Important – General Data: Protection Regulation

There are major changes coming to how businesses must handle personal data. This will be taking effect from 25th May this year. This new legislation (abbreviated to ‘GDPR’) introduces more strict rules as to how personal data is stored, used and transmitted.

Here at Artema we will be issuing new engagement letters and privacy policy notices to all of our clients. We are currently undergoing a full audit on our systems to ensure they are in line with the new standards imposed. We are also looking into changing the way we are communicating with clients as we will not be able to send any confidential information via email once the above rules are put into effect.

Over the next coming weeks, we will issue our new engagement letters with an update about Artema’s compliance with the GDPR rules.
If you are a business owner or someone who keeps personal data on their customers, employees or tenants etc. and you haven’t yet looked into how you will be affected by the GDPR rules, we suggest that you act now. A good place to start would be on the Information Commissioner’s website by clicking here.
